Atwima Kwanwoma DCE Supports Persons With Disabilities With Livelihood Equipment

The Atwima Kwanwoma District Chief Executive (DCE), acting through the Department of Social Welfare and Community Development, has presented a range of livelihood-enhancing equipment to Persons Living With Disability (PWDs) in the district as part of ongoing efforts to promote economic empowerment and social inclusion.

Beneficiaries received fufu-pounding machines, block-making machines, industrial sewing machines, deep freezers, and other assorted tools tailored to their specific vocational needs. The initiative forms part of the Assembly’s commitment to ensuring that PWDs are equipped with practical resources that can help them generate income and improve their standard of living.

Speaking during the presentation, the DCE reaffirmed the Assembly’s dedication to creating equal opportunities for all residents, emphasizing that empowering vulnerable groups remains a top priority.

The Social Services Convener of the Assembly, Hon. Peter Gyau, also added his voice, commending the beneficiaries for their determination and encouraging them to make efficient use of the items. He stressed that the Assembly’s investment in PWDs is a strategic step toward building a more self-reliant and economically vibrant district.

Hon. Gyau further urged community members to support the beneficiaries in their ventures, noting that collective encouragement is essential for sustaining livelihoods and promoting dignity for all.

The beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the Assembly for the gesture, pledging to put the equipment into productive use.
