Atwima Kwanwoma DCE Hon. Grace Agyemang Asamoah Urges Assembly Staff to Uphold Professionalism and Commitment

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Atwima Kwanwoma in the Ashanti Region, Hon. Grace Agyemang Asamoah, has issued a strong call to action to staff of the District Assembly, urging them to uphold professionalism, discipline, and a high sense of commitment in the discharge of their duties.

Speaking during a staff engagement with workers from various decentralized departments of the Assembly, the DCE expressed concern over what she described as a growing trend of absenteeism, lateness, and apathy among some employees. She warned that such conduct was unacceptable and posed a serious threat to the progress and efficiency of the district’s development agenda.

“As public servants, we are duty-bound to serve with integrity, seriousness, and dedication. The people of Atwima Kwanwoma rely on us, and we must not fail them,” she emphasized.

Hon. Agyemang Asamoah stressed the need for every staff member to justify their salary through hard work, time consciousness, and accountability. She noted that public sector workers must match the benefits they enjoy with a strong work ethic and quality service delivery to meet the needs of residents.

Encouraging a spirit of teamwork, the DCE called on all staff to work together in unity and mutual respect, stating that collaboration remains essential to the Assembly’s operational success.

“I urge everyone to put personal interests aside during working hours and focus on our shared mission. If we unite and stay committed, we can bring significant development to our district,” she said.

She assured the staff that her office remains open and accessible to everyone, encouraging those facing challenges or confusion about work processes to seek help rather than remain silent.

“My doors are always open. Don’t sit in silence if you are unsure about anything. Come to my office — we will resolve it together. This is a team, and I am here to support you,” she added.

Hon. Agyemang Asamoah further urged departmental heads to demonstrate effective leadership by listening to their subordinates and creating a supportive work environment. She advised them to lead by example, be approachable, and remain responsive to the needs of their teams.

“Good leadership involves listening and responding to the needs of your team. When staff feel heard and valued, they become more productive and loyal,” she noted.

The DCE reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to maintaining a conducive and motivating work environment. However, she issued a clear warning that acts of indiscipline—particularly absenteeism without permission—would no longer be tolerated.

“Absenteeism without permission is a clear breach of the civil service code, and such conduct will be dealt with accordingly. We cannot afford to compromise on discipline,” she cautioned.

In her concluding remarks, Hon. Agyemang Asamoah reminded staff that the future of the Atwima Kwanwoma District depends on their collective effort and commitment. She called on all employees to reflect on their individual roles and contribute meaningfully to the Assembly’s vision.

“The development of our district is not the work of one person. It takes a committed and efficient workforce to drive change. Let us rise to the occasion, uphold professionalism, and serve our people with honour,” she concluded.
