The District Chief Executive for the Atwima Kwanwoma District, Hon. Grace Agyemang Asamoah, has received international recognition after being honoured as the “Most Outstanding Female Leader in Local Governance and Public Service Administration” at the 3rd edition of the She Achievers Award held in Kigali, Rwanda.
The colourful ceremony took place at the elegant M Hotel Kigali, bringing together distinguished leaders, professionals, and influential women from across Africa and beyond who have demonstrated excellence and innovation in their respective fields.

Hon. Agyemang Asamoah received the prestigious recognition from the Business Executive Group, organisers of the international awards scheme that celebrates exceptional women whose leadership, dedication, and professional achievements continue to create positive impact within their communities and institutions.
The honour marks the third major award received by the Atwima Kwanwoma District Chief Executive within just ten months of assuming office, further cementing her growing reputation as a dynamic and results-driven leader in Ghana’s local governance system.
In her acceptance speech, Hon. Agyemang Asamoah expressed profound gratitude to the organisers for acknowledging her commitment to public service and leadership. She emphasised that genuine leadership should not only be measured by institutional success or administrative accomplishments, but rather by the number of lives positively transformed through dedicated service.
According to her, leadership must remain people-centred, focusing on the welfare and development of communities while creating opportunities that improve the living standards of citizens.
She also used the platform to encourage women across Africa to remain determined and resilient in their pursuit of leadership and professional excellence.
“Women must continue to push harder and remain determined in whatever field they find themselves. Where one comes from should never limit the heights one can attain. Hard work always brings rewards,” she stated.
Hon. Agyemang Asamoah further commended the organisers of the She Achievers Awards for creating a global platform that recognises and celebrates women who are making significant contributions in governance, business, and public administration.
She was accompanied to the ceremony by the District Coordinating Director of the Atwima Kwanwoma District Assembly, Alhaji Mohammed Shaibu, together with other officials from the Assembly.
The District Chief Executive also expressed appreciation to the President of the Republic of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, for the confidence reposed in her and for the opportunity to serve as the District Chief Executive of the district.
She reaffirmed her commitment to working closely with stakeholders, traditional authorities, and residents within the district to accelerate development and improve the living conditions of the people.
The international recognition further highlights Hon. Grace Agyemang Asamoah’s growing influence and impact in local governance, as her dedication to service continues to earn admiration both within Ghana and on the global stage.
