Atwima Kwanwoma DCE Donates GH¢2,000 to U-17 Team for Winning Ashanti Inter-District Tournament

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Atwima Kwanwoma District Assembly, Hon. Grace Agyemang Asamoah, has donated an amount of GH¢2,000 to the district’s Under-17 football team following their outstanding victory in the Ashanti Regional Inter-District Soccer Tournament held at Bekwai.
The Atwima Kwanwoma U-17 team emerged champions after a highly competitive tournament that brought together six districts from across the Ashanti Region under the auspices of the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene. The team distinguished itself with impressive skill, discipline and teamwork, ultimately clinching the coveted title and bringing pride to the district.

The victorious side was led by the District Sports Coordinator, Mr. Moses Pewudie, with technical direction from Coach Daniel Badu Dankwa. As winners of the tournament, the team received a set of jerseys, a football and football hose in recognition of their remarkable achievement.
Following their triumph, the players and technical team paid a courtesy call on Hon. Grace Agyemang Asamoah at her office, where she warmly received them and commended their dedication and commitment. She congratulated the team for raising the image of the Atwima Kwanwoma District and urged them to remain focused as they prepare for the next stage of the competition at the national level.

As a show of appreciation and motivation, the DCE presented a cash donation of GH¢2,000 to the team for their hard work and success. She encouraged the players to stay disciplined, committed to training and law-abiding, assuring them of the Assembly’s continuous support. According to her, sports development remains a vital tool for youth empowerment, talent nurturing and positive social transformation within the district.
The District Coordinating Director, Mr. Muhammed Shaibu, also addressed the team, advising the players to take their academic work seriously alongside their football careers. He urged them to be resilient and hardworking, stressing that education and discipline are essential for long-term success in sports and life.
Receiving the cash donation on behalf of the team, Mr. Moses Pewudie, together with Coach Daniel Badu Dankwa, expressed profound gratitude to the District Assembly for its unwavering support throughout the competition.
