Assembly Members Also Deserves Better Concern Assembly Members Tells Gov”t

Concern Assembly Members in the Ashanti Region have expressed their disappointment when the news break in regards to the $28 million car loan facility announced by the Finanace Minister, Mr. Ken Ofori Atta.

The said whopping sum if money according to the finance minister is to buy cars for the 275 ministers in parliament amidst making arrangement to pay wives of president and Vice President.

But the assembly members intimated that governments over the years have not seen the impact of assembly members and the contributions to the development of the country.

They say if all things being equal, assembly members and members of parliament have the same work responsibilities and if the Finance Ministry thinks their work does not matters to national development, they will exercise their constitutional right because we equally elected as members of Parliament and should be resources.

In a press conference organised by some aggrieved group of Assembly members in the region led by Hon Daniel Kwaku Mensah (DKM), Assemblyman for Manso Moseaso and Hon Emmanuel Nyanteng, Assemblyman for Aburaso electoral area…they are highly dissastify with the current development of first and second ladies salary saga.

“We have devoted to serve our various electoral areas holistically for the forward March of mother Ghana”. Yet, our efforts have never attracted the requisite leaders of this country.

They lamented that Nana Addo has promised to resource the work of assembly members during the 2020 general elections campaign not motor bikes to kill them.

They emphatically stated that, “We will vote big NO against any president Akufo Addo next nominee to occupy MMDCES position if the authorities fail to address our concerns.

According to them Ghanaians should not be suppressed if parliament did not rescind it decision to past a law permitting payment of they see assembly members on the street demonstrating against the $28 million car loan and the first and second ladies salary issue among other unfair treatment meted out to assemble members over the years.
