Nana Gyenin Akenten II, the Chief of Asotwe in the Ejisu municipality of the Ashanti Region has cautioned the youth to desist from immoral acts that could be detrimental to their future.
He also expressed concerned about the increased uses of drugs among the youth and stressed the need for urgent attention because of its serious repercussions on the socio- economic development of the area and the country as a whole. ” If measures are not taken to nib the issue of drug abuse among the youth on the bud the future of country would be in tottery” he noted.
Nana Gyenin emphasize that the youth who are the hope of the country have unfortunately taken into dosing strong drugs such as, Cocaine, heroine, marijuana and alcohol.
“Large proportion of them are getting involved in all manner of social-vices” He lamented.
Nana Gyenin Akenten also warned against the invoking of curses with “atoa nyamaa” which has become rampant practice in the area and cautioned that a nyone found of invoking such curses would be brought into Nananom for a sanction which could attract a huge fine of money or a ramb.
Commenting on development, he expressed great optimism that the area would see a massive developments now that he has been enstooled a chief of the town. He called for unity and togetherness as one people with common destiny to develop the town.
Asotwe has been without a chief for the past year after Nana Oteng Sarfo Kantanka resign as a chief of the area due to some personal reasons.
In an interview with the press during, jubilation amidst drumming and dancing by the elders and the people of Asotwe in the Ejisu Municipality during the inauguration and thanksgiving ceremony of newly enstooled Asotwehene, Nana Gyenim Akenten II.
