The District Chief Executive for Akrofuom in the Ashanti region, Gariba Mohammed Mustapha, has officially handed over a newly constructed three-unit classroom block to Manukrom D A Basic School to enhance teaching and learning in the area.
The new facility, built to serve junior high school students, is expected to reduce congestion and create a more conducive atmosphere for academic work in the Manukrom community.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, Mr Mustapha said the community had struggled for years with inadequate educational infrastructure.

According to him, most of the existing school structures were put up through the efforts and limited resources of residents rather than direct government support.
“This project reflects our commitment to improving educational infrastructure and ensuring that our children study in a safe and comfortable environment,” he stated.
The DCE urged community leaders, teachers and residents to take proper care of the facility to guarantee its longevity.
He cautioned the youth against misusing the classrooms for inappropriate activities, stressing that the building was meant solely to support academic work.

He also appealed to the government and relevant authorities to consider providing teachers’ accommodation in the district to help attract and retain qualified educators.
Residents who attended the ceremony expressed gratitude for the intervention, describing it as a major boost to education in Manukrom.
Some parents said the new classrooms would ease overcrowding and improve learning outcomes for their children.
“We are grateful for this support. It gives our children hope for a better future,” a community member remarked.
