ASAWASI: ASSEMBLY MEMBER PREPARE GROUNDS AHEAD OF RAINY SEASON CAUTION RESIDENTS OVER DUMPING OF REFUSE INTO DRAINS

 

The Assembly member for Asawasi West Electoral area in the Asokore Mampong Municipality of the Ashanti Region Hon Gideon Okai Has cautioned Residents to desist from dumping refuse into drains and gutters ahead of the rainy season.

This came into greenlight When the Assembly Member together with One in Town Exercutive men’s club and members from the environment service providers led by Zoomlion Ghana limited have organised a massive clean up exercise to rid filt in the area.

The Assembly member Hon.Gideon Okai told Fox fm news reporter Ekuoba Gyasi who joined the exercise that the initiative was to help eradicate the scourge of the deadly coronavirus, eradicate the increasing cases of typhoid and Malaria among Residents of Asawasi and to also prepared ground ahead of the rainy season.

He entreated traders , street hawkers as well as residents in the area to be responsible desist from littering the streets and gutters adding that such act of irresponsible attitude would not be tolerated after the exercise.

Hon.Okai further hinted that the Assembly together with the Unit committee members are devising strategies to ensure that the streets is kept clean as the exercise would be held periodically.

As further called on the people to rally behind him as he is on cause to deliver on his promises as an assembly member.

The chairman for “One in Town Exercutive men’s club Nana Agyemang Antobre who’s members took active part in the clean up exercise also urge residents to desist from littering around and also continue to prioritize the Covid 19 safety protocols.

He further hinted on their agenda to provide dustbins to help deal with sanitation issues in the Asawasi West Electoral area.
