The Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, warmly received Archbishop Dr. Divine Agyeman Badu, President of the International Council of Churches and Ministries of Great Britain, during a courtesy call at the Regional Minister’s office. The meeting also served as an opportunity for Archbishop Badu to extend an invitation to the Council’s upcoming convocation scheduled for later this March.

The discussions focused on the crucial role of the church in national development, emphasizing moral leadership, community transformation, and the promotion of ethical values across society. Dr. Amoakohene expressed his appreciation for the enduring contribution of the Christian community to the socio-economic and spiritual growth of the Ashanti Region and the country at large.

Speaking on the collaborative role of religious institutions in national progress, the Regional Minister noted that H.E. the President values the prayers, counsel, and support of faith leaders as the nation works collectively to reset Ghana’s development agenda.
Dr. Amoakohene expressed optimism that the visit would mark the beginning of deeper collaboration between the government and religious institutions, highlighting the need for partnership in fostering sustainable development and social cohesion across the region.

The Archbishop, in turn, reaffirmed his commitment to supporting national initiatives through spiritual guidance and active engagement in community development programs. Both leaders concluded the meeting with a shared vision of working together to promote holistic development for the people of the Ashanti Region and Ghana as a whole.
