Appointment Authorities, The Only Right People To Decide My Fate – Tafo MCE

MCE for the Old Tafo municipal assembly, Hon. Fred Obeng Owusu has said that the only people to decide his fate at post are the appointment authorities. The MCE said this in an interview with the Ghana News Agency when he was asked to react to how some of his constituents have been calling for his removal.

It could be recalled that some residents within Pankrono in the Old Tafo municipality called for the removal of the Municipal Chief Executive. The said in their explanation revealed that MCE refused to campaign for the current sitting Member of Parliament Vincent Ekow Assafua during the 2020 general election. Also, according to the group the MCE has been very incompetent at post as they also described him as someone who disrespects people.

This earlier allegation in turn made the Chief of Tafo, Nana Agyen Frimpong and his elders, through a press conference, come out to deny the allegations made against the MCE and hence called for the wash away of such malicious claims. They preached that the MCE had been so respectful and has been hardworking as expected of him, contrary to what the sabotuers were preaching against him.

However, the MCE reacting to the issue in an interview with the Ghana News Agency said he was not going to comment too much since he was of the firm believe that his works were going to speak for him. He said the only people to decide his fate are the appointment authorities.

He however pleaded with people to ignore such sabotuers as he was seriously concentrating on the works.

The MCE finally thanked President Nana Addo for asking all MMDCEs to remain at post until further notice. He revealed that all contracts were going to continue within the municipality in order to secure the development agenda that has been set by the NPP government.
