The Appianyinasehene of Juaben, Nana Kwanin Kwanfo II, has recognized and rewarded eight exceptional students who excelled in the 2024 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE). The award ceremony celebrated their remarkable achievements and highlighted the chief’s ongoing commitment to promoting academic excellence in the region.
The students, who have now progressed to senior high schools, achieved impressive single-digit aggregates in their BECE results. The awardees included Acquah Helina Asiedu (aggregate 6), Dora Boateng (aggregate 8), Felix Manu (aggregate 8), Ernestina Gyebi (aggregate 9), Victoria Agyapong (aggregate 8), Charles Boateng (aggregate 9), Micheal Boadi Dapaah (aggregate 9), and Gloria Ama Akakpovi (aggregate 9).
As part of the awards, Nana Kwanfo presented the students with monetary rewards, books, and citations to help support their educational pursuits. Students with an aggregate of 9 received GHC 1,500 each, while those with an aggregate of 8 were awarded GHC 2,000. The top-performing student, Acquah Helina Asiedu, who achieved an aggregate of 6, received GHC 3,000.
Speaking with Hello FM News, Nana Kwanin Kwanfo emphasized the crucial role of education in shaping the future of Juaben and the nation. He pledged to continue recognizing academic excellence in order to inspire more students in the municipality to reach their full potential.
In a separate statement, the Appianyinasehene called on the Ghana Education Service (GES) to consider reintroducing corporal punishment in schools, believing it could help improve discipline among students at both the basic and secondary education levels.
The awardees, including Acquah Helina Asiedu and Dora Boateng, expressed heartfelt gratitude to Nana Kwanin Kwanfo II for his generous support and recognition.
