The newly constructed Apaaso Community Market is set to be officially commissioned on Wednesday, 25th March 2026, a development expected to significantly boost trade, livelihoods, and economic activities in the area.

Speaking to the media ahead of the commissioning, the Chief Executive Officer of the market, Patrick Owusu, popularly known as Pekus, encouraged residents of Apaaso, Asaago, Odarso, and surrounding communities to actively patronise the facility. He expressed confidence that the market would provide a modern and organised space for traders, particularly market women, while enhancing business opportunities and income generation for the local population.

Mr. Owusu also highlighted the importance of proper infrastructure for supporting commercial activities. He appealed to the government to prioritise the tarring of roads in the area, noting that improved accessibility would facilitate trade, attract investors, and promote sustainable development.
He further assured that measures have been put in place to ensure the market is well-maintained and secure, providing traders with a safe and reliable environment to carry out their business.

The commissioning ceremony is expected to draw prominent figures, including the District Chief Executive of Atwima Kwanwoma District, Hon. Grace Asamoah Agyemang, assembly members, traditional leaders, market women, and residents from the surrounding communities.

The launch of the Apaaso Community Market is anticipated to mark a significant milestone in the district’s local economic development, providing a vibrant hub for trade, creating employment opportunities, and improving access to goods and services for residents of Apaaso, Asaago, Odarso, and nearby areas.
