In a significant boost to education in the Amansie South District, the District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. Lawyer Clement Opoku Gyamfi (CID), and the Member of Parliament (MP) for Manso Adubia Constituency, Hon. Yaw Frimpong Addo, who also serves as the Deputy Minister for Agriculture, have donated 1,500 desks to several schools in the district. This initiative aims to enhance the learning environment and address infrastructural challenges faced by the schools.
The donation ceremony, held at the premises of the Amansie South District Assembly, saw both leaders reiterating their commitment to improving education in the district. Beneficiary schools included Aboaboso D/A KG and Primary, Abram D/A JHS, Adimposo D/A KG/Primary, Akyerekyerekrom D/A Basic, Aponapon Ghana Muslim Mission, Groso D/A Basic, Kumpese/Akwasiso D/A KG and Primary, Kwabenaso D/A KG and Primary, Mem Methodist KG and Primary, and Nyankomaso T.I. Ahmadiyya Basic.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Lawyer Clement Opoku Gyamfi emphasized the importance of maintaining the desks to benefit future generations. “These desks are for the benefit of the pupils, and we hope they will take good care of them to improve their classroom experience,” he said.
Hon. Yaw Frimpong Addo also pledged his continued support for education in the area, stating, “Education remains a priority, and I will do everything in my power to see that schools in our district are adequately resourced.”
Teachers and heads of the beneficiary schools expressed their gratitude, noting that the desks would significantly improve the learning environment for their students.
This donation is part of ongoing efforts by the district leadership to improve access to quality education in the Amansie South District.
