Amaniampong SHS to Represent Ghana in U.S. Robotics Competition After Palace Visit
Amaniampong Senior High School is set to represent Ghana at an international robotics competition in the United States of America following a courtesy call on the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi during the first Awukudae Festival of 2026.

The visit, which took place on Tuesday, January 14, 2026, was led by the Headmistress of the school, Mrs. Osei Owusu, and formed part of activities marking the Awukudae celebration. The delegation, made up of management, staff and students, participated in the traditional rites before being granted audience with the Asantehene.

Addressing Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Mrs. Osei Owusu briefed him on the significant academic and technological milestones chalked by the school in recent years. She announced that Amaniampong SHS recently reached the semi-final stage of the National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ), a notable achievement that has enhanced the school’s academic reputation nationwide.
She further disclosed that the school emerged winners of the National Robotics Competition, a major accomplishment that has earned Amaniampong SHS the opportunity to represent Ghana at a prestigious international robotics competition in the United States. According to her, the success reflects the dedication, discipline and innovative spirit of the students, as well as the commitment of teachers who continue to nurture excellence in science and technology.

Otumfuo Osei Tutu II congratulated the school on its remarkable achievements and praised the leadership, staff and students for their hard work and determination. He described the feats as a source of pride for the Asante Kingdom and the country at large, urging the students to conduct themselves with discipline and patriotism as they prepare to represent Ghana on the global stage.
The Asantehene encouraged the school to continue prioritising quality education, innovation and character development, stressing the importance of science and technology in national development.
