Amaniampong SHS Pays Courtesy Call on Otumfuo Osei Tutu II During Awukudae Festival

Amaniampong Senior High School, led by its Headmistress, Mrs. Osei Owusu, on Tuesday, January 14, 2026, paid a courtesy call on the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi as part of activities marking the first Awukudae Festival of the year.
The visit, which brought together school management, staff and students, was aimed at formally engaging the Asantehene and sharing the school’s recent academic and innovation milestones. The delegation joined the traditional Awukudae observance before being granted audience with Otumfuo Osei Tutu II at the palace.

Briefing the Asantehene, Mrs. Osei Owusu outlined the steady growth and achievements of Amaniampong SHS, noting that the school has made significant strides in both academics and science-based innovation. She proudly announced that the school recently reached the semi-final stage of the National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ), a feat that has elevated its status among leading senior high schools in Ghana.

In addition, the Headmistress disclosed that Amaniampong SHS emerged winners of the National Robotics Competition, an outstanding achievement that has earned the school the opportunity to represent Ghana at an international robotics competition in the United States of America. She explained that the success reflects the commitment, discipline and teamwork of the students, as well as the dedication of teachers who continue to nurture excellence in science and technology.

Otumfuo Osei Tutu II commended the school for its remarkable accomplishments, describing them as a source of pride for the Ashanti Kingdom and the nation as a whole. He encouraged the students to remain focused, disciplined and patriotic as they prepare to represent Ghana on the international stage, reminding them that they carry the hopes and image of the country.
The Asantehene further urged the school authorities to continue investing in quality teaching, innovation and character development, assuring them of his support for initiatives that promote education and youth empowerment.
