Akwasi Agyemang Supports Nkawie-Toase Hospital Again with GH₵10,000 Worth of Essentials

The Nkawie-Toase Government Hospital in the Atwima Nwabiagya Municipal Assembly has once again benefited from the benevolence of philanthropist and businessman Mr. Akwasi Agyemang and his wife, owners of Man Man Company Limited. The couple has donated sanitary items and other essential consumables valued at GH₵10,000 to the hospital’s Mother and Baby Unit (MBU), reinforcing their longstanding commitment to improving maternal and neonatal healthcare.

The donation, presented on Friday, November 21, 2025, included baby diapers, wipes, mosquito nets, beverages, bottled water, and the settlement of medical bills for some patients. The gesture formed part of activities marking this year’s Preterm Day celebration by the MBU, which highlights the needs and challenges of babies born before 37 weeks of pregnancy.

This latest act of generosity follows a significant donation made by the couple last year, when they presented a Fire Fly phototherapy machine worth GH₵65,000 to the hospital. The equipment—rare and highly valuable in the region—is used for treating babies with severe jaundice, a condition that often requires urgent and specialized care.

Receiving the items on behalf of management, Mrs. Catherine Agyemang, a Deputy Chief Nursing Officer, expressed profound appreciation to Mr. Agyemang and his wife for their consistent support. She emphasized that the Fire Fly phototherapy machine has greatly reduced the facility’s reliance on Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) and other major centres for neonatal care.

According to her, “babies are no longer being transferred due to the unavailability of essential equipment,” a development she described as a major relief for both healthcare providers and families.

Mrs. Agyemang appealed to other well-resourced individuals, groups, and institutions to emulate the Agyemangs’ exemplary commitment to improving healthcare in the municipality, noting that collective support is essential for strengthening the district’s health delivery system.
