Akutuasehene Urges Youth to Embrace TVET at Harvest and Fundraising Event
The Chief of Akutuase, Nana Asare Bediako, has called on the youth of Ghana to embrace Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) as a practical path to empowerment, job creation, and national development.

Nana Asare Bediako made the appeal during the Annual Harvest and Fundraising Ceremony held in support of the construction of an ultra-modern Social Centre for the people of Akutuase in the Asante Akim North District of the Ashanti Region.
Addressing residents, stakeholders, and opinion leaders, the Akutuasehene emphasized that while general education remains important, TVET provides hands-on skills that equip young people for employment, entrepreneurship, and self-reliance. He noted that countries with strong vocational training systems often achieve faster industrial growth and economic development.

“TVET is not just an alternative; it is a game changer for our nation. It empowers our youth to create jobs, innovate, and contribute meaningfully to the economy. Parents and guardians must support their children to pursue technical and vocational education without prejudice,” Nana Asare Bediako stated.
The Chief also commended the people of Akutuase for their unity and commitment to community development, particularly their support for the Social Centre project. He described the initiative as a symbol of communal effort, noting that sustainable development begins when residents take ownership of projects that directly improve their welfare.

He further appealed to all residents, including those living in the diaspora, to continue supporting the Social Centre initiative until its completion, emphasizing that community-led projects are essential for long-term growth.

The Annual Harvest and Fundraising Ceremony, attended by a large gathering of residents and stakeholders, provided a platform for Nana Asare Bediako to champion TVET education while reinforcing the importance of unity, self-help, and proactive development in Akutuase.

The event also highlighted the collaboration between traditional authorities, the community, and local leaders, reflecting a shared commitment to social and educational advancement.
