Akutuasehene Champions TVET Education at Annual Harvest and Fundraising Ceremony
The Chief of Akutuase, Nana Asare Bediako, has reiterated the need for Ghana to place greater emphasis on Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), describing it as a critical pathway to youth empowerment, job creation and national development.

Nana Asare Bediako made the call at the Annual Harvest and Fundraising Ceremony organised in aid of the construction of an ultra-modern Social Centre for the people of Akutuase in the Asante Akim North District of the Ashanti Region.
Addressing residents, opinion leaders and stakeholders at the event, the Akutuasehene stressed that the future of Ghana’s economy depends largely on a skilled and technically competent workforce. He noted that while general education remains important, TVET provides practical, hands-on skills that prepare young people for the job market and entrepreneurial opportunities.

According to Nana Asare Bediako, TVET equips the youth with employable skills in various trades and technical fields, enabling them to become self-reliant and productive contributors to national development. He urged parents and guardians to change the perception that technical and vocational education is inferior, emphasizing that many developed economies thrive on strong TVET systems.
The Akutuasehene described TVET as a game changer capable of addressing youth unemployment and reducing overreliance on white-collar jobs. He encouraged young people to take advantage of available technical and vocational training opportunities to acquire skills that meet the needs of the modern economy.

Beyond education, Nana Asare Bediako commended the people of Akutuase for their unity and commitment to development, particularly their collective effort towards the construction of the community’s Social Centre. He noted that the project reflects the strength of communal cooperation and the determination of residents to take charge of their own development.
He appealed to natives of Akutuase, both at home and in the diaspora, to continue supporting the Social Centre project until its successful completion, stressing that sustainable development can only be achieved through shared responsibility and collective sacrifice.

The Annual Harvest and Fundraising Ceremony, which attracted a large gathering of residents and stakeholders, provided a platform for the Akutuasehene to reaffirm his commitment to promoting education, unity and development within the community.
