AKROFUOM NCCE DISTRICT DIRECTORATE LAUNCHES IPDC

The Akrofuom District Directorate of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), has launched the Inter Party Dialogue Committee (IPDC).

The committee among many functions is to ensure unity and peace among all the stakeholders in the constituency before during and after the December Presidential and Parliamentary elections.

Addressing the members at a short ceremony to launch the committee, the District Director of NCCE, Mr. Ali Kassim called for active participation of all stakeholders as the nation gets prepared to go to polls.

He said since 1992, there has been eight (8) elections held in Ghana and each one comes with it’s perculiar characteristics and that of 2024 which is some few months away is not different.

He added that there is the need for all stakeholders to arise and address the ills that is showing as the elections draw near.

Members discussed the increasing rate of monetisation in our democracy and called for institutions set up by the constitution to rise up to the occasion and cause implement the law when such matters are brought to their attention.

Members also discussed the issues of misinformation and disinformation that is characterized with elections on Ghana and we’re very much worried about the trend creeping-in in the constituency.

The chairman of the committee, Chief Inspector Richard Boateng also urged members to priotise peace in the country since it’s absence could cause al lot of discomfort for us as a country.

He also appealed to other members to play our part well in achieving the aim for the formation of the committee in the constituency.

Some of the members include representation from CHRAJ, Religious groups, Information Services Department, Political parties, Artisans, District Assembly, Security Services and others.
