Ahead of NPP Flagbearership Primaries,Dr Bawumia Is the Only Candidate Who Can Win 2028 for NPP – Kumawu MP

The Member of Parliament for the Kumawu Constituency, Hon. Ernest Yaw Anim, has openly endorsed former Vice President Dr. Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia as the most credible candidate capable of leading the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to victory in the 2028 general elections.

According to the Kumawu MP, his position is informed by a careful and objective assessment of the party’s current crop of presidential aspirants and the political dynamics expected to shape the next general elections. He explained that the NPP’s success in 2028 will depend largely on presenting a candidate with broad national appeal, solid governance experience, and the capacity to unite the party while attracting floating voters.

Hon. Ernest Yaw Anim made these remarks in an interview with the media ahead of the NPP’s flagbearership primaries scheduled for Friday, January 31, 2026.

He noted that among the five aspirants contesting the party’s presidential slot, Dr. Bawumia clearly stands out as the most marketable and credible option. He cited the former Vice President’s extensive experience in public service, economic management, and governance, describing him as a leader who has consistently demonstrated competence at the highest level of government.

The Kumawu MP stressed that Dr. Bawumia has over the years proven to Ghanaians that he possesses the vision, intellect, and leadership qualities required to steer the affairs of the nation. He added that Dr. Bawumia’s record in office, coupled with his calm demeanor and policy-driven approach to politics, places him ahead of the other contenders.

Hon. Ernest Yaw Anim further observed that the 2028 general elections are expected to be highly competitive, making it imperative for the NPP to field a candidate who can clearly articulate policies, connect with ordinary Ghanaians across all regions, and command credibility both locally and internationally. In his assessment, Dr. Bawumia embodies these attributes more than any of the other aspirants.

He therefore urged delegates of the New Patriotic Party to exercise wisdom and foresight during the upcoming primaries, emphasizing that the decision taken on January 31, 2026, will have far-reaching implications for the party’s fortunes in the 2028 general elections.

Reaffirming his personal support, Hon. Ernest Yaw Anim expressed strong confidence that Dr. Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia, if elected as the party’s flagbearer, would successfully lead the NPP into the 2028 elections and secure victory for the party.
