Ahafo Ano South West DCE Pledges Aggressive Development Agenda to Bridge Infrastructure Gaps

The District Chief Executive (DCE) of the Ahafo Ano South West District, Hon. Abubakari Sadiq, has pledged to pursue an aggressive and inclusive development agenda aimed at closing long-standing infrastructure and social service gaps across the district.

According to the DCE, despite efforts by successive governments, many communities in the district continue to face serious development challenges, particularly in critical sectors such as education, health, road transportation, electrification, sanitation and access to potable water. He stressed that addressing these gaps remains a top priority of his administration.

Hon. Abubakari Sadiq made these remarks at Adadekrom during the start of his thank-you tour of the district, organized to express appreciation to party members, traditional authorities and residents for their unwavering support. The tour, he explained, also serves as an opportunity to engage stakeholders on development priorities and foster stronger collaboration.

He noted that the district requires strategic and transformational infrastructural projects that will directly improve the quality of life of residents and stimulate economic growth. In this regard, the DCE assured the people that he is committed to contributing his best efforts in any capacity to ensure that the developmental needs of the district are met.

Highlighting ongoing and planned initiatives, Hon. Abubakari Sadiq disclosed that several projects are being rolled out to uplift the district. He announced that preparations are underway for the sod-cutting of a 24-hour market complex, a project expected to enhance commercial activities, create employment opportunities and boost the local economy.

The DCE further emphasized his openness to new ideas, calling on residents, opinion leaders and stakeholders to actively contribute suggestions that will aid the development of the district. He reiterated that his doors remain open to all, stressing the importance of unity and collective responsibility in achieving sustainable development.
“I am committed to doing everything possible to bring development closer to the people, and I count on the continuous support of all stakeholders to realize this vision,” he stated.

Also addressing the gathering, the Vice Chairman of the constituency, Hon. David Mawuli, urged the youth not to lose hope in the face of current economic challenges. He encouraged them to trust in the government, assuring that plans are underway to create job opportunities for the youth in the coming days.

The thank-you tour is expected to continue across various communities in the district, serving as a platform for engagement, accountability and renewed commitment to the development of Ahafo Ano South West.
