Ahafo Ano South East DCE Urges Parents to Invest in Children’s Education for a Brighter Future

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Ahafo Ano South East, Hon. Issah Ayaba Nelson, has called on parents and guardians across the district to make their children’s education a top priority, describing it as the most valuable investment any parent can make for the future of their family and the nation.

Hon. Ayaba Nelson made this passionate appeal during a thank-you tour at Nsuta, where he was accompanied by the Ahafo Ano South East Constituency Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the Member of Parliament for the area. The tour formed part of their effort to express appreciation to residents for their continuous support and to engage communities on development issues.

Addressing parents and community members, the DCE emphasized that education remains the most powerful tool for transforming lives and bridging the gap between poverty and prosperity. He lamented that many families in the district continue to face economic hardship due to a lack of educational opportunities, urging parents to take the bold step of investing in their children’s schooling to secure a better future for them.

“The only way to bridge the poverty gap in Ahafo Ano South East and nurture quality leaders for tomorrow is through education. When we educate our children well, we are not just shaping their future but building a strong and prosperous society,” Hon. Ayaba Nelson stated.

He stressed that the development of the district depends largely on how committed parents are to the academic and moral training of their children. According to him, children who receive proper education and upbringing are more likely to become responsible, God-fearing, and productive citizens capable of leading the nation with integrity.

“The only way to get good and God-fearing people to lead our communities and the nation is to train our children well. Let us channel our energy and resources into their education, because that is the legacy we can proudly leave behind,” he added.

Hon. Ayaba Nelson also revealed that plans are far advanced to establish a Nursing Training College in the Ahafo Ano South East District. He explained that this initiative will create new opportunities for the youth, particularly those aspiring to pursue careers in the health sector, while reducing the financial and logistical challenges associated with seeking higher education outside the district.

He assured the people of Nsuta and surrounding communities of his administration’s continuous commitment to enhancing access to quality education and creating the right environment for learning. He further urged all stakeholders, including traditional authorities, opinion leaders, and parents, to work hand in hand to promote education and youth development.

The DCE expressed optimism that with collective effort and sustained investment in education, Ahafo Ano South East District would soon experience a new era of academic excellence, economic empowerment, and leadership growth.

“When we educate our children, we are not just building their future — we are building the future of Ahafo Ano South East and Ghana at large,” he concluded.
