AFLAG Honors Prince Douglas Asamany with the 2025 Social Change Advocate Award

AFLAG is a human rights organization that
specializes in the provision of Economic,
Social and legal Enmpowerment to women,
protection of Children’s rights, youth and
adolescent empowerment especially to the marginalized and vulnerable in society has conferred its prestigious 2025 Social Change Advocate Award on Prince Douglas Asamany, celebrating his exceptional humanitarian leadership and remarkable contributions to social transformation across Ghana.
The honor was presented during the Philanthropic Awards & Charity Night 2025, an event that brought together distinguished humanitarians, development partners, corporate leaders, policymakers, and civil society organizations to recognize individuals whose work continues to make a measurable difference in their communities.

In a citation read at the ceremony, AFLAG praised Prince Asamany for his outstanding dedication to human welfare, community empowerment, and sustainable development. The organization highlighted the transformative work he has championed through the Prince Asamany Foundation, guided by its inspiring motto: “Hope, Development, and Opportunity to All.”

Prince Asamany’s widely celebrated outreach program, “Joy to the Street,” received strong commendation for restoring dignity and hope to people living on the streets. The initiative has provided food, clothing, psychological support, and reintegration assistance to vulnerable individuals and families, touching countless lives across Kumasi and surrounding communities.

In addition to street outreach, AFLAG recognized his foundation’s free medical screening initiatives, educational support schemes, job skills training, and livelihood empowerment projects, which have significantly improved well-being in underserved areas. These programs, according to the citation, reflect a consistent and practical commitment to addressing human needs at the grassroots level.

Prince Asamany was also honored for his role as a prominent advocate for Green Chemistry Education, promoting environmentally responsible scientific practices and sustainability awareness. His efforts to bridge innovation, environmental preservation, and youth education were described as “visionary and essential for future-ready development.”

Presenting the award, AFLAG Founder Rita Ama Nupe Demuyakor and Programs Director Nana Efua Tweneboa-Boateng hailed Prince Asamany as a humble, strategic, and impact-driven leader whose work stands as a model for service-oriented citizenship.

“Your dedication has transformed lives, strengthened communities, and inspired hope where it is needed most,” the presenters announced, emphasizing the credibility and national relevance of his initiatives.

In his remarks, Prince Asamany expressed sincere gratitude to AFLAG for the recognition and reaffirmed his commitment to expanding humanitarian programs across Ghana. He dedicated the award to the vulnerable communities whose struggles continue to motivate his mission.
