Adwinsa Publications has donated 2,500 storybooks to the Otumfuo Education Fund and the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Foundation as part of activities marking this year’s International Day of Education. The event, held at the Prempeh Assembly Hall in Kumasi, drew dignitaries, traditional leaders, students from various junior high schools, and stakeholders in education under the theme “Preserving Human Agency in a World of Automation: AI and Education.”
Organized by the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Foundation, the celebration highlighted the critical role education plays in equipping Ghanaian youth to thrive in a rapidly evolving technological landscape shaped by artificial intelligence and automation.
Among the dignitaries present were Otumfuo Hiahene, Nana Prof. Oheneba Boachie-Adjei Woahene II; Nana Agyei Dwamena, Chief of Feyiase; and other traditional leaders, who joined forces to advocate for quality education and the development of the region.
In an interview with the media after the event, Mr. Kwaku Oppong Amponsah, Chief Executive Officer of Adwinsa Publications, reiterated the company’s commitment to advancing education and lauded the Otumfuo Foundation for its unwavering dedication to nurturing young minds across Ghana.
“We understand the transformative power of education, which is why Adwinsa Publications continues to support initiatives that empower students. This donation symbolizes our belief in the ability of books to inspire and shape the future of this nation,” Mr. Amponsah stated.
He further advised students to maximize their time on meaningful activities, cautioning against overindulgence in social media distractions. “Social media has its place, but spending too much time watching movies or chatting on WhatsApp can derail your goals. Stay focused on your studies to achieve your dreams,” he urged.
Representatives of the Otumfuo Foundation expressed profound gratitude for the donation, emphasizing the value of education in addressing the challenges posed by emerging technologies. They noted that investments in education would prepare students to harness opportunities in a world increasingly influenced by automation and artificial intelligence.
The event concluded with a call for collective action among stakeholders to prioritize education as a cornerstone for national development. The donated storybooks will serve students in various communities, fostering literacy and nurturing a culture of reading.
Adwinsa Publications’ generous contribution has been hailed as a significant step toward improving educational outcomes and advancing the Otumfuo Foundation’s mission of empowering Ghana’s youth through learning.
