Adom TV’s Isaac K. Nomenyo Honored with National Heroes Award for Outstanding Journalism and Community Impact

In a proud moment for the media landscape in Ghana, Isaac K. Nomenyo, the Obuasi Correspondent for Adom TV, has received the prestigious National Heroes Award for his remarkable contributions to journalism and grassroots development.

The award, presented at a high-profile ceremony organized by the Ghana Heroes Foundation in Obuasi, celebrated individuals who have made significant impacts in their communities through service, advocacy, and leadership. The event brought together key stakeholders from traditional leadership, public service, media, and civil society organizations.

Isaac K. Nomenyo was recognized for his fearless and people-centered journalism that consistently shines a light on the challenges faced by communities within the Obuasi municipality and surrounding areas. From poor road networks and inadequate school infrastructure to environmental degradation and public health concerns, Nomenyo’s reports have given voice to the voiceless and held authorities accountable.

Over the years, he has become a respected figure in the media for his depth of reporting and commitment to the truth. His work with Adom TV has helped draw attention to neglected communities and prompted action from both government and private institutions.

Presenting the award, a spokesperson for the Ghana Heroes Foundation praised Nomenyo as “a bold, ethical, and dedicated journalist whose stories do more than inform—they transform.”

“Isaac Nomenyo has elevated journalism to a tool for change. His storytelling moves beyond the screen and into the heart of the communities he serves. He is a true national asset,” the representative stated.

In an emotional speech upon receiving the award, Nomenyo expressed gratitude to the Ghana Heroes Foundation, his Adom TV family, and the people of Obuasi, whom he described as the “heartbeat of his work.”

“This award is not just mine—it belongs to every individual, every community whose story I’ve told. Their struggles, dreams, and courage have been my motivation. I am honored, and even more inspired to continue this journey,” he said.

He also used the platform to encourage upcoming journalists to embrace integrity, compassion, and persistence in their work, noting that journalism remains one of the most powerful forces for societal change when practiced responsibly.

The event ended with a call to support journalists operating in rural and underserved communities, many of whom face challenging conditions yet remain committed to telling the truth and advocating for justice.

The recognition has been widely welcomed by media professionals, traditional leaders, and community members in Obuasi, who have hailed Nomenyo’s award as long overdue and deeply deserved.

As tributes pour in, Isaac K. Nomenyo’s story continues to serve as a compelling example of journalism’s power to ignite change, inspire hope, and make heroes out of ordinary men.
