Abuontem Abusuapanin Urges Chief to Fast-Track Completion of Community Park as Youth Express Growing Frustration

The Abusuapanin of Abuontem, Kofi Adu Tutu Ampam, has appealed to the Chief of Abuontem to expedite work on the community’s new park following rising discontent among the youth over the delayed pace of the project. According to him, the absence of a well-prepared park has left the young people with no proper place to play football, a situation that continues to spark frustration in the community.

Speaking on behalf of the people of Abuontem, Abusuapanin Kofi Adu Tutu Ampam revealed that although the chief had begun work on the park and even mounted goal posts on the site, the project still remains incomplete. He emphasized that the pace of work is too slow and called on the chief to intervene swiftly to ensure the park is completed to serve the needs of the community, particularly the youth who have been eagerly waiting for its opening.

He noted that the community appreciates the chief’s initiative but stressed that the current state of the project has created growing anger among the youth who feel deprived of recreational space. He therefore appealed directly to the chief to speed up the development process to restore unity and calm within the area.

In response to the concerns, the Chief of Abuontem, Nana Akomea Sakyi Tutu Ampam II, Otumfuo Brempon, assured the residents that he remains strongly committed to the development of Abuontem. He admitted that the project has delayed mainly due to financial constraints but reaffirmed his dedication to completing the community park as soon as possible.

Nana Akomea Sakyi Tutu Ampam II explained that despite the challenges, progress is being made, and he called on the youth and entire community to exercise patience as he works toward securing the needed resources to finish the project. He revealed that grass seeds required for the park have already been procured and are ready for planting.

The chief further encouraged residents to support the project through communal labour. He urged them to organize regular weeding and clearing activities on the park grounds to prepare the area for planting the grass, stressing that communal involvement would help accelerate the completion of the facility.

He reiterated that the park, once completed, will contribute significantly to the community’s development and offer the youth a proper recreational space for football and other activities.
