ABN Star Journalist Donates to Orphans

ABN broadcast journalist, Abena Saahena has donated food items worth thousands of Ghanaian cedis to the Remar Ghana Christian Rehabilitation Centre at Patasi in Kumasi, the Ashanti regional capital

 

Items donated include assorted soft drinks, cooking oil, bag of rice, packs of sachet water, tubers of yam, tinned tomatoes, toiletries and many others.

Abena Saahene who is a presenter at Kumasi based Angel Fm made the presentation to commemorate her birthday celebration.

The gesture was preceded by a brief dinner with orphans of the orphanage.

She told the media that her gesture was geared towards assisting vulnerable in society.

“I saw the need to support them because a good number of children are hard-pressed.

As a way of making a living the ace journalist observed that most of the children were in the street, turning as beggars, a situation she stressed shouldn’t have happened.

She appealed to corporate institutions and individuals who are well to do to extend a hand to support the children.
