A/R: Nigerian Miner Found Dead in Galamsey Pit at Manso Fawotrikyɛ; Police Arrest Two

A young Nigerian miner, Baba Jedi (29), was found drowned near a galamsey site in Manso Fawotrikyɛ, Amansie South District, on Friday, 6th February 2026, after going missing earlier in the week.
According to the site master, Tahiru, Baba Jedi had informed him that he was leaving the site after work. Another worker confirmed that the deceased was picked up by the site master on a motorcycle before disappearing.

The Manso Adubia Police Command has arrested the site master and one other co-worker. Investigations are ongoing to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the death.
