A/R: DCE for Amansie South District nab 9 persons at a galamsey site

The District Chief Executive for Amansie South district, Hon. Clement Opoku Gyemfi, popularly known as (CID) led the members of the district security council (DISEC) to visit the Offin River and environment currently plagued by illegal miners also known as “galamsey’.

These illegal miners have destroyed almost all the water bodies in the area and have extended their actions on people’s cocoa farms. The district chief executive for a long time have been tracking these notorious Galamseyers.

However, they were able to nab 9 person engaged in the illegal mining activities destroying the water bodies within the district.

These nine arrested were taken to police custody by the security officials who followed the district chief executive on the mission. Galamsey as we speak now have had so much negative impact on the country’s economy and hence must be fought be root out their activities.
