The Kwadaso Municipal Assembly has taken a significant step towards improving environmental sanitation with plans to distribute skip containers across the municipality to promote proper waste management and curb indiscriminate disposal of refuse.

This initiative forms part of the Assembly’s broader strategy to create a cleaner and healthier environment for residents while addressing persistent sanitation concerns in various communities within the municipality.
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Kwadaso, Hon. Eric Asibey, disclosed this during a brief ceremony held on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at the forecourt of the Municipal Assembly, where he officially handed over four skip containers to the Environmental Health and Sanitation Department.
Hon. Asibey emphasized that the provision of the skip containers is aimed at improving waste collection efficiency and ensuring that residents have access to designated points for proper refuse disposal. He noted that indiscriminate dumping of waste remains a major challenge, and the Assembly is determined to address it through practical interventions and public education.

He further urged residents to make good use of the containers once they are distributed and to support the Assembly’s efforts by maintaining good sanitation practices in their homes and communities.
The MCE also called on the Environmental Health and Sanitation Department to ensure proper placement and regular evacuation of the containers to prevent overflow and maintain cleanliness at the designated sites.
Present at the brief handing-over ceremony were the Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Francis Adu-Boateng; the Presiding Member, Hon. Ernest Frimpong; Assembly Members; and Heads of Departments, all of whom commended the initiative and pledged their support towards ensuring its success.

The distribution of the skip containers is expected to significantly enhance waste management efforts in the Kwadaso Municipality and contribute to the Assembly’s vision of achieving a clean, safe, and sustainable environment for all residents.
