The District Chief Executive for the Atwima Mponua District, Issahak Ibrahim, in collaboration with the Ismat Foundation, has honoured fourteen outstanding teachers in the district for their exceptional dedication, commitment, and contributions to the development of education.

The awards ceremony, organised under the Atwima Mponua District Teacher Prize initiative, brought together education stakeholders, traditional leaders, school authorities, and community members to celebrate teachers who have distinguished themselves through hard work, innovation, and commitment to shaping the future of young people in the district.

The initiative, sponsored by the District Chief Executive in partnership with the Ismat Foundation, seeks to recognise and reward teachers who continue to make significant contributions toward improving the quality of education across communities in the district. The programme also aims to motivate educators to maintain high professional standards while inspiring others to demonstrate excellence in teaching and learning.
During the ceremony, fourteen teachers drawn from various basic and second-cycle schools across the district were recognised for their outstanding performance and commitment to duty. The awards were presented in three major competitive categories, highlighting teachers who have demonstrated excellence in classroom delivery, commitment to students’ academic development, and innovative approaches to teaching.

In addition to the competitive categories, several other teachers were presented with special recognition and consolation awards in appreciation of their remarkable service and dedication to education within the district. The recognition formed part of efforts to ensure that the sacrifices and hard work of teachers are duly acknowledged.
Addressing participants at the event, the District Chief Executive, Issahak Ibrahim, commended teachers in the district for their resilience and unwavering commitment to nurturing and guiding the younger generation despite the many challenges confronting the education sector.

He emphasised that teachers remain the backbone of national development, stressing that their role in shaping the character, knowledge, and aspirations of students cannot be overstated. According to him, investing in teachers and recognising their efforts is essential for improving educational outcomes and building a strong and productive society.
Mr. Ibrahim further indicated that the District Assembly will continue to prioritise education by supporting initiatives that motivate teachers and enhance teaching and learning across schools in the district.
Representatives of the Ismat Foundation also reiterated the organisation’s commitment to supporting education-focused initiatives that empower teachers and strengthen community development.
