The High Commissioner of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Ghana, Christian Rogg, has paid a courtesy call on Ghana’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, to discuss ways of strengthening cooperation between the two countries.

The meeting took place on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Accra. During the discussions, both officials focused on enhancing the existing strategic partnership between Ghana and the United Kingdom in several key areas.

Key issues discussed included labour mobility, education, peace and security, as well as other areas of mutual interest aimed at deepening collaboration between the two nations.
Honourable Ablakwa emphasised the importance of the long-standing relationship between Ghana and the United Kingdom and expressed Ghana’s commitment to strengthening cooperation that will bring development benefits to both countries.

For his part, High Commissioner Christian Rogg reaffirmed the United Kingdom’s readiness to continue working closely with Ghana to expand opportunities in trade, education, and security cooperation.

At the end of the meeting, both parties renewed their commitment to deepening bilateral relations and strengthening collaboration to promote growth, development, and mutual prosperity for the people of both countries.
