The Abura Asebu Kwamankese Constituency has recorded a significant milestone in its development agenda following the commissioning of five major infrastructure projects aimed at strengthening education and primary healthcare delivery across the area.

The projects, which were inaugurated yesterday, include three school blocks and two Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compounds strategically located to serve growing communities within the constituency.

In the education sector, a newly constructed Kindergarten block was commissioned at Srodofo Abaasa to provide a conducive learning environment for early childhood education. At Okyiriku, a modern six-unit basic school block was officially opened to improve teaching and learning conditions for pupils at the primary level. Additionally, a three-unit Junior High School block was commissioned at Emprio, a project expected to enhance access to quality education and reduce overcrowding in existing classrooms.

Addressing community members, traditional leaders, education officials and other stakeholders during the commissioning ceremonies, the Member of Parliament underscored the importance of investing in human capital development through improved infrastructure. He noted that education remains the foundation of sustainable development and reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that children within the constituency study in safe and well-equipped environments.

He emphasized that the provision of modern school facilities is critical to improving academic performance, boosting teacher morale and promoting enrolment and retention at all levels of basic education.

Beyond education, the constituency also witnessed a major boost in healthcare delivery with the commissioning of two newly constructed CHPS compounds at Nyamedom and Abakah. The facilities are expected to bring essential health services closer to residents, particularly women, children and the elderly, thereby reducing travel time to distant health centres.

To support effective service delivery, the Member of Parliament donated modern health equipment to both facilities to facilitate their operations. The equipment, according to him, will enable health workers to provide quality primary healthcare services and improve maternal and child health outcomes within the beneficiary communities.

He reiterated that accessible healthcare remains a priority and assured residents that additional efforts would be made to strengthen health infrastructure and logistics in underserved areas.

Community leaders and residents expressed profound appreciation for the projects, describing them as timely interventions that will significantly improve living standards. They pledged to take ownership of the facilities and ensure proper maintenance to safeguard the investments for future generations.

The commissioning of the three school blocks and two CHPS compounds marks another important chapter in the ongoing development efforts within the constituency, reflecting a sustained commitment to expanding access to education and healthcare at the grassroots level.
