The National Vice President of the Ogun Indigene Forum-Ghana Chapter (OIF-GC), Alhaji Hakeem Salam Faisal Ojuroye, has been honoured at the Ayekoo Heroes Awards in recognition of his outstanding leadership, entrepreneurial excellence and dedicated service to his community.

The award was presented last Saturday at the Conference Hall of Cyprian’s Anglican Cathedral in Kumasi, where distinguished personalities from various sectors gathered to celebrate individuals who have made significant impact in their respective fields.
The Ogun Indigene Forum-Ghana Chapter is a coalition of professionals, elites, artisans, youth and students who are indigenes of Ogun State in the Federal Republic of Nigeria living in the diaspora. The Forum seeks to unite all indigenes of the state resident in Ghana while fostering peace, unity and strong bilateral relations between Ghana and Nigeria through investment promotion and cultural diversity.

The annual awards ceremony was organised by Divine Key Believers Network International, affiliated with Prince Hampel World Outreach (UK) and Divine Word International Ministries (USA). The event aimed to recognise and celebrate excellence, divine service and individuals who have demonstrated outstanding impact within their communities.

Other notable awardees at this year’s edition included Nana Kofi Nti, Otumfuo’s Principal Linguist (Kyeame Panin); Nana Sem Amppiah Ogyeabo, Fante Newtown Nifahene and former Black Stars and Asante Kotoko player; Alhaji Mustapha Dauda, Chairman of the Yoruba Community in the Ashanti Region and Life Patron of the Ogun State Society in Ghana; Nana Bila Kantanka of Akoma FM; and Asonaba Kwabena Boateng of OTEC FM, among others.

Alhaji Hakeem Salam Faisal Ojuroye, who is also the Chief Executive Officer of F. Salam Trading Enterprise, dealers in general hardware located around the Roman Hill Mosque in Kumasi, was recognised for his professionalism, innovation and strategic foresight in business.

Through his entrepreneurial initiatives, he has created employment opportunities, empowered fellow entrepreneurs and contributed meaningfully to economic growth, setting high standards for business excellence and integrity within the community.

Speaking to the media after receiving the award, Alhaji Ojuroye expressed profound gratitude to the organisers for recognising his efforts and contributions. He described the honour as a motivation to continue serving both the Nigerian and Ghanaian communities with dedication and integrity.
He used the opportunity to urge Nigerians who intend to migrate to Ghana for business purposes to follow the appropriate legal procedures in entering the country and establishing their enterprises. He encouraged them to join recognised Nigerian associations to ensure proper integration and compliance with local regulations.

According to him, business success requires patience, commitment and adherence to due process, stressing that individuals should not rush to achieve success at the expense of legality and long-term sustainability.
Alhaji Ojuroye further advised Nigerian migrants not to take advantage of Ghanaian hospitality, noting that the peaceful coexistence between the two nations must be preserved through mutual respect, lawful conduct and responsible investment practices.

The recognition of Alhaji Hakeem Salam Faisal Ojuroye highlights the growing impact of diaspora leadership in strengthening Ghana–Nigeria relations and promoting economic development through enterprise and community service.
