Hon. Yussif Jajah on Tuesday joined the National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, and the party’s National Organizer, Joseph Yamin, on an intensive campaign tour of the Ayawaso East Constituency in the Greater Accra Region, as momentum builds ahead of the March 3, 2026 parliamentary by-election.

The high-powered delegation embarked on a vigorous house-to-house engagement and community outreach programme aimed at canvassing support for the NDC’s parliamentary candidate, Baba Jamal. The team interacted directly with residents, traders, youth groups and party sympathizers across several electoral areas within the constituency.

Addressing constituents during the engagements, the party’s national executives underscored the importance of the upcoming by-election, describing it as crucial to strengthening the NDC’s representation and advancing development priorities in Ayawaso East. They called on voters to turn out in their numbers on March 3 to deliver what they described as a decisive mandate for Baba Jamal.

Hon. Yussif Jajah expressed confidence in the party’s prospects, citing the warm reception and enthusiastic response from residents as clear indicators of growing support. He noted that the direct interactions provided an opportunity for the leadership to listen to the concerns of constituents and reaffirm the NDC’s commitment to responsive and people-centred governance.

For his part, Johnson Asiedu Nketia commended the grassroots structures of the party in the constituency for their dedication and hard work. He urged party faithful to remain united and focused, emphasizing that discipline, vigilance and active voter mobilization would be key to securing victory at the polls.

Similarly, Joseph Yamin encouraged supporters to intensify outreach efforts in the final days leading to the by-election. He stressed the need for sustained engagement, particularly among first-time voters and the youth, to consolidate the gains made during the campaign.
The campaign trail was marked by vibrant scenes, with party supporters chanting slogans and expressing optimism about the party’s chances. Executives at the constituency and regional levels also joined the exercise, demonstrating a united front as the party gears up for the decisive vote.
With days to the by-election, the NDC leadership remains upbeat, insisting that the energy on the ground and the positive feedback from residents signal a strong showing for Baba Jamal when the people of Ayawaso East head to the polls on March 3, 2026.
