President John Dramani Mahama has officially sworn in new heads for the Ghana National Fire Service and the Ghana Immigration Service, charging them to provide decisive and disciplined leadership in strengthening national security and emergency response.

At a brief but significant ceremony, Daniella Mawusi Ntow Sapong was sworn in as the Chief Fire Officer of the Ghana National Fire Service, while Samuel Basintale Amadu took the oath of office as Comptroller-General of the Ghana Immigration Service.

In his address, President Mahama underscored the critical responsibilities entrusted to the two institutions, describing them as central pillars in safeguarding lives, protecting property, and securing Ghana’s borders. He urged the newly appointed heads to approach their mandates with professionalism, integrity, and unwavering commitment to duty.
The President noted that the Ghana National Fire Service plays an indispensable role in emergency response, fire prevention, and public safety, particularly at a time when urbanization and industrial growth demand improved preparedness and rapid intervention systems. He called on the new Chief Fire Officer to enhance operational efficiency, boost personnel morale, and deepen public education on fire safety across the country.
Turning to the Ghana Immigration Service, President Mahama emphasized the growing complexity of border management in an era of heightened regional and global security concerns. He encouraged the new Comptroller-General to strengthen border surveillance, promote lawful migration, and improve institutional discipline to reinforce national security.

President Mahama expressed confidence in the competence and experience of the appointees, stating that their leadership would contribute significantly to institutional reforms and improved service delivery within their respective agencies.

The swearing-in of the two security chiefs forms part of ongoing efforts by the administration to reinforce key state institutions and enhance Ghana’s overall security architecture.
