Hon. Ernest Yaw Anim, Member of Parliament for Kumawu and Chairman of the Human Rights Committee of Parliament, has participated in a capacity-building workshop on combating human trafficking. The workshop was organized by the International Justice Mission in partnership with the Human Rights Committee of Parliament.

The program was designed to strengthen the knowledge, skills, and coordination mechanisms of key stakeholders in addressing human trafficking, with particular attention to protecting vulnerable groups, including women and children.

In his address, Hon. Anim underscored that human trafficking and child labor continue to pose serious threats to the dignity, safety, and future of many citizens. He emphasized that these violations remain a pressing human rights concern that demands coordinated legislative and oversight action.

“As Parliamentarians, we are committed to enhancing our legislative and oversight responsibilities to safeguard vulnerable persons and decisively combat this grave violation of human rights,” Hon. Anim stated.

The workshop brought together lawmakers, government officials, and civil society actors to share knowledge, strategies, and best practices for preventing, identifying, and addressing cases of human trafficking across the country. Hon. Anim called for sustained collaboration among all stakeholders to ensure a safer, more secure environment for all citizens.
