
The Ghana Free Zones Authority (GFZA) has successfully hosted a comprehensive training session for twenty-nine (29) newly licensed companies, strengthening their capacity to operate efficiently within the Free Zones Scheme. The event took place on Thursday, 12th February 2026, at the Authority’s Head Office in Accra and was organized by the Compliance Department to ensure participants were well-equipped with the knowledge and tools necessary for success.

During the opening remarks, Dr. Mary Awusi, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of GFZA, reaffirmed the Authority’s unwavering commitment to creating a conducive business environment that enables investors to thrive. She emphasized that compliance with the provisions of the Free Zones Act is essential for sustainability, long-term growth, and national development. The participating companies were also assured of the Authority’s continuous support in facilitating their operational success and competitiveness.

The training program featured presentations from key GFZA departments, including Compliance, Monitoring, Administration, Management Information Systems, Marketing and Investment Promotion, Corporate Affairs, PR & Aftercare, Finance, and Business Development, Research & AfCFTA. Each department provided practical guidance on best practices, helping participants maximize the incentives available under the Scheme, such as tax exemptions and enhanced access to regional and international markets.

This initiative strengthened collaboration between the Authority and the newly licensed enterprises, providing a solid foundation for productive partnerships. By equipping these companies with critical operational insights and resources, the GFZA is positioning them to contribute meaningfully to Ghana’s vision of becoming a leading hub for trade and investment in the region.

The Authority expressed confidence that the knowledge imparted during the training would empower the companies to navigate the Free Zones framework successfully while promoting compliance, innovation, and sustainable growth.
