As the New Patriotic Party (NPP) intensifies preparations toward the 2028 general elections, Dr. Charles Dwamena, popularly known as “Dr. China,” has outlined what he describes as a bold and strategic blueprint to reorganize and energize the party’s grassroots base across the country.

Dr. Dwamena, who currently serves as National Treasurer of the party, has emphasized that the NPP’s path back to electoral victory must begin with a comprehensive strengthening of its foundational structures—from polling station executives to constituency and regional leadership. According to him, rebuilding momentum requires deliberate investment in grassroots mobilization, improved communication systems, and renewed discipline within party ranks.

In outlining his vision, Dr. Dwamena stressed that the General Secretary’s office must function as the operational engine of the party, coordinating activities nationwide and ensuring strategic alignment at every level. He noted that effective organization and timely communication will be critical in reconnecting the party with its core supporters and expanding its appeal to undecided voters.

Central to his plan is the reactivation and empowerment of polling station structures, which he described as the “first line of political engagement.” He believes that strengthening these units through structured training, consistent engagement, and improved logistical support will enhance the party’s readiness and responsiveness ahead of 2028.

Dr. Dwamena has also highlighted the need for stronger internal cohesion, arguing that unity remains the party’s greatest asset. He has pledged to promote discipline without division, encourage open consultation, and foster mutual respect among party members at all levels. According to him, an atmosphere of inclusion and shared purpose is essential for building a formidable political front.

On communication strategy, he underscored the importance of clarity, consistency, and rapid response in today’s dynamic political environment. He indicated that the party must sharpen its messaging, better articulate its policy alternatives, and effectively leverage both traditional and digital platforms to engage Ghanaians.

Party observers note that Dr. Dwamena’s administrative experience as National Treasurer has strengthened his understanding of the institutional demands of national leadership. His stewardship of the party’s finances has been associated with enhanced transparency and accountability—qualities that supporters believe are transferable to the broader coordination role of General Secretary.

Looking ahead, Dr. Dwamena has expressed confidence that with disciplined organization, strategic planning, and collective effort, the NPP can return stronger and more united in 2028. He maintains that the rebuilding process must be deliberate, inclusive, and focused on results.

As internal consultations continue within the NPP, Dr. Charles Dwamena’s bold reorganization agenda is expected to shape ongoing discussions about the party’s future direction and its readiness to mount a credible and competitive campaign in the next general elections.
