The District Chief Executive for Amansie West, Hon. Prince Manu Morris, has toured the ongoing Omanadwaye–Mim Junction road project to assess the level of work done and to ensure that construction is progressing in line with approved specifications.

The inspection formed part of the District Assembly’s monitoring and evaluation exercise aimed at guaranteeing quality assurance on key infrastructure projects across the district. During the visit, Hon. Manu Morris was accompanied by technical officers of the Assembly, who briefed him on the scope of works, timelines, and challenges associated with the project.

Addressing the media at the site, the DCE expressed concern over the poor state of road infrastructure in the Amansie West District, noting that the absence of tarred roads continues to impede economic activities and limit access to essential services. He emphasised that improving the district’s road network remains a priority, as it plays a critical role in enhancing trade, agriculture, education, and healthcare delivery.

Hon. Manu Morris expressed optimism that the government, under the leadership of President John Dramani Mahama, will give urgent attention to the road needs of the district. He assured residents that sustained advocacy and collaboration with relevant sector agencies will help accelerate road development and boost economic growth in the area.

The DCE further urged the contractor to adhere strictly to quality standards, safety regulations, and project timelines, stressing that the Assembly will not compromise on the durability and safety of the road. He also called on residents along the road corridor to support the project by cooperating with workers and protecting construction materials to ensure smooth and timely completion.

Community members who witnessed the inspection commended the Assembly for its commitment to addressing their long-standing transportation challenges. They expressed hope that the completion of the Omanadwaye–Mim Junction road would significantly reduce travel difficulties, especially during the rainy season, and enhance the movement of goods and services.

The Omanadwaye–Mim Junction road project, when completed, is expected to improve connectivity within the Amansie West District and contribute meaningfully to the socio-economic development of the area.
