MTN Ghana Foundation, in partnership with Cal Bank, has announced the 2026 edition of its flagship “Save A Life” Blood Donation Drive, aiming to collect 7,000 units of blood in a single day to support the National Blood Service and regional hospital blood banks across Ghana.

The nationwide initiative is scheduled for Friday, 13th February 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with donation centres activated in all 16 regions of the country. Major collection points in Accra include the MTN Ghana Head Office, the MobileMoney Ltd office at the Stanchart Building, and the Cal Bank Head Office at Ridge, complemented by 44 designated centres nationwide to ensure maximum public participation.
Speaking ahead of the drive, Samuel Bartels, Senior Manager for Regulatory and Government Affairs at MTN Ghana, representing the Acting Chief Corporate Services and Sustainability Officer, highlighted the critical importance of the initiative.

“Ghana still faces a significant blood shortage, and every unit donated becomes a lifeline for someone’s parent, child, friend, or colleague. This campaign is not just another event; it is an act of love, a demonstration of leadership, and a reaffirmation of MTN’s value to lead with care,” he stated.
He urged all eligible donors, corporate institutions, and the public to participate, emphasizing that the need for blood is constant.
“Blood is an essential resource, and the demand never stops. We appeal to Ghanaians everywhere—if you are able, please join us at any of the designated centres. Your donation could save a mother, a child, or someone in emergency care. Together, we can make a real and lasting impact,” Mr. Bartels added.
The full list of donation centres is available on MTN Ghana’s website and official social media platforms.
Since its inception in 2011, the MTN “Save A Life” campaign has become one of Ghana’s most impactful voluntary blood donation initiatives. Launched in response to repeated appeals from the National Blood Service, the programme has mobilised over 35,000 units of blood to date, supporting hospitals in life-saving emergency and routine care and helping save thousands of lives.

The 2026 edition builds on this legacy, strengthening partnerships, expanding reach, and reinforcing MTN Ghana Foundation’s commitment to national health, social responsibility, and community wellbeing.
