Former Ghana Gas CEO Dr Ben Asante Enstooled as Juansa Paramount Chief

Dr Ben Asante, a former Chief Executive Officer of Ghana Gas, has been enstooled as the Paramount Chief of the Juansa Traditional Council in the Asante Akyem North Municipality of the Ashanti Region. Upon his elevation to the revered Juansa stool, he assumed the stool name Nana Kwaku Dankwah Opamago Kodie II, succeeding the late Nana Osei Kwame Tiatoa.

The colourful enstoolment ceremony, performed in strict conformity with Asante customs and traditions, brought together traditional rulers, elders, kingmakers, opinion leaders and residents of Juansa. The occasion was marked by widespread jubilation and unity, reflecting the overwhelming endorsement Dr Asante received from the traditional council and the community.

Dr Ben Asante’s selection as paramount chief was strongly influenced by his distinguished career in public service and his long-standing commitment to education, youth empowerment and employment creation. Elders of the Juansa Traditional Council described him as a visionary and development-oriented leader whose wealth of experience is expected to drive accelerated socio-economic progress in the traditional area.

In his acceptance remarks, Nana Kwaku Dankwah Opamago Kodie II expressed heartfelt appreciation to the kingmakers, elders and people of Juansa for the confidence reposed in him. He paid glowing tribute to his predecessor, Nana Osei Kwame Tiatoa, acknowledging his immense contributions to peace, unity and development. The new paramount chief pledged to build upon the strong foundation laid by his predecessor while introducing pragmatic initiatives to uplift the lives of the people.
He assured the people of Juansa of his commitment to promoting unity and strengthening traditional governance, while leveraging his professional background to attract investment and development opportunities. Nana Kwaku Dankwah Opamago Kodie II emphasized that education, skills development and youth employment would remain central pillars of his leadership agenda.

In line with tradition, the new paramount chief indicated that he would soon swear the customary oath of allegiance before the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, to formally affirm his authority within the Asante Kingdom.

Sub-chiefs and elders of the Juansa Traditional Council have pledged their unflinching support to Nana Kwaku Dankwah Opamago Kodie II, expressing optimism about the future of Juansa under his leadership. They appealed to natives of the area, both home and abroad, as well as stakeholders and development partners, to unite and support the traditional council in its quest to advance development.

The enstoolment of Nana Kwaku Dankwah Opamago Kodie II marks the beginning of a new chapter for Juansa, with heightened expectations that his reign will usher in sustained development, unity and prosperity for the traditional area.
