The Member of Parliament (MP) for Bosome Freho Constituency, Hon. Nana Asafo-Adjei Ayeh, has urged students in his constituency to pursue higher education with focus and determination, stressing that education is the greatest legacy they can inherit. He made the call when he donated 1,500 trunks, chop boxes, exercise books and note books to all 2024/2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) graduates who are preparing to enter senior high schools.

The ceremony, which took place at Dunkura, brought together parents, guardians, traditional rulers, opinion leaders and education stakeholders. Excitement filled the atmosphere as each of the 1,500 students received a trunk, a chop box, and sets of books to aid them in their academic journey.

This initiative marks the first time in the history of Bosome Freho that such large-scale educational support has been given to BECE graduates, a move that has been described by residents as historic and timely.

Speaking to the media, Hon. Nana Asafo-Adjei Ayeh explained that the donation was in fulfillment of a promise he made during his campaign for Parliament. He reiterated his commitment to education, describing it as the foundation for personal growth and community development.

“This is a pledge I made to my people when I sought their mandate to serve them. Today, I am honoring that promise because education is the greatest legacy we can give our children. It is something no one can ever take away from them,” the MP said.

Hon. Asafo-Adjei Ayeh urged the students to remain disciplined, focused and determined to climb the academic ladder, stressing that his ultimate vision is to see Bosome Freho produce more professionals in the near future.

“It is my expectation that this constituency will soon produce doctors, nurses, engineers, lawyers, and teachers. We cannot always have our young people going to mining sites or staying on farms. While farming and mining are good, my dream is to see our children excel in education and bring pride and progress to Bosome Freho,” he emphasized.

Parents who received the items on behalf of their children expressed their appreciation to the MP, noting that the gesture had come at a crucial time.

“The cost of trunks, chop boxes and books is very high, and many of us were struggling to buy them. This donation has lifted a big burden off our shoulders, and we are grateful to Hon. Nana Asafo-Adjei Ayeh for thinking about the welfare of our children,” one parent remarked.

Education stakeholders and community leaders also applauded the MP for his visionary support, describing it as a milestone in the constituency’s educational development. They believe such initiatives will motivate students to remain committed to their studies and improve the overall standard of education in Bosome Freho.

The donation has since been hailed as a landmark achievement that not only fulfills a campaign promise but also sets a new precedent for future investment in the youth of Bosome Freho.
