MTN Ghana has officially launched DigiFest 2025, a month-long festival designed to showcase innovation, inspire creativity, and promote digital inclusion. The initiative reaffirms MTN’s determination to create a bold, inclusive, and digitally connected world in line with its Ambition 2025 strategy.

The launch event in Accra brought together policymakers, industry stakeholders, technology partners, innovators, and young people, setting the stage for an exciting calendar of activities that will run throughout the month. The festival reflects MTN’s evolving role as a digital leader, committed to ensuring that every Ghanaian has access to the tools, skills, and platforms necessary to thrive in a modern, connected society.

Addressing the gathering, Stephen Blewett, Chief Executive Officer of MTN Ghana, described DigiFest as a landmark in the company’s mission to transform Ghana’s digital landscape. He explained that MTN no longer considers itself only as a telecommunications provider but as a digital company enabling individuals and businesses to participate fully in the digital world. He revealed that the company has invested more than one billion dollars in Ghana’s digital infrastructure over the last five years, with an additional two hundred and forty million dollars committed this year alone. He also highlighted youth-centered projects such as the construction of a twenty-five million-dollar ICT Hub and the MTN Digital Skills Academy, which are designed to nurture innovation and prepare young Ghanaians for the opportunities of the future.

Ibrahim Misto, Chief Digital Officer of MTN Ghana, emphasized the importance of emerging technologies, particularly artificial intelligence, in shaping the future of economies and societies. He noted that AI is redefining industries and transforming the skill sets required for success. He also spoke about the rise of mobile gaming as a powerful driver of creativity and entrepreneurship. According to him, mobile gaming is no longer limited to entertainment but has become a platform for innovation and global competition, offering Ghanaian youth the chance to connect with international markets and showcase their talents.

DigiFest 2025 offers a wide array of interactive, educational, and entertaining experiences. Participants will take part in hackathons focused on design and user experience, AI community sessions in universities, live demonstrations of the myMTN App, gaming experiences, and engaging activities such as Spin the Wheel. The festival will also feature Tech Quiz Fridays, which blend fun with learning while rewarding participants for their knowledge.

Technology partners including Samsung, Huawei, Unotelos, Abena AI, and Smart Home solutions are also part of the festival, displaying the latest digital products and services that reflect the innovations shaping the future.

By hosting DigiFest 2025, MTN Ghana is reinforcing its Ambition 2025 vision of leading digital solutions for Africa’s progress. The festival serves not only as a celebration of technology but also as a platform for inclusivity, opportunity, and empowerment. It demonstrates MTN’s belief that every Ghanaian deserves the benefits of a modern connected life, and that by embracing digital tools and skills, the nation can achieve sustainable progress.
