MTN Ghana has officially launched DigiFest 2025, a month-long festival that celebrates digital innovation and inclusion while reinforcing the company’s bold vision of creating a fully digital society. The festival comes at a time when MTN is making unprecedented investments in Ghana’s digital infrastructure, including an additional $240 million committed this year to expand services and accelerate transformation.

The launch event in Accra brought together industry stakeholders, technology partners, government officials, and innovators to witness the unveiling of MTN’s digital roadmap through immersive experiences, interactive sessions, and technology showcases.

Stephen Blewett, Chief Executive Officer of MTN Ghana, underscored the significance of DigiFest as a reflection of MTN’s journey and a declaration of its digital ambition. He explained that the company has already invested more than one billion dollars in digital infrastructure over the past five years, with this year’s two hundred and forty million dollars serving as a catalyst for growth. According to him, MTN is no longer confined to being a telecommunications provider but is transforming into a digital powerhouse, offering services that cut across mobile money, music, video, gaming, healthcare, education, and enterprise solutions.

Blewett also highlighted MTN’s commitment to preparing the next generation for the digital future. He spoke about the ongoing construction of a $25 million ICT Hub and the establishment of the MTN Digital Skills Academy, both of which are designed to nurture young innovators and entrepreneurs, equipping them with the skills and tools needed to drive Ghana’s digital agenda.

Expanding on this vision, Ibrahim Misto, Chief Digital Officer of MTN Ghana, focused on the role of artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies in reshaping industries and everyday life. He explained that AI is no longer a distant possibility but an essential driver of market transformation. Misto also drew attention to the fast-rising mobile gaming industry, which he described as a platform for creativity, entrepreneurship, and global competition. He noted that Ghanaian youth are increasingly positioned to harness technology not only for entertainment but also as a pathway to innovation and international recognition.

DigiFest 2025 has been curated to provide participants with a blend of education, innovation, and entertainment throughout the month. Attendees will experience live app demonstrations, hackathons centered on user experience and design, AI-focused community sessions at universities, and weekly technology quizzes designed to make learning interactive and rewarding. Experiential booths will feature gaming stations and digital engagement activities, while technology leaders such as Samsung, Huawei, Unotelos, Abena AI, and Smart Home solutions will showcase their latest innovations.

The festival strongly aligns with MTN’s Ambition 2025 strategy, which is focused on leading digital solutions for Africa’s progress. By investing heavily in infrastructure, championing youth innovation, and expanding access to digital tools, MTN Ghana is positioning itself as the central driver of Ghana’s digital future. DigiFest 2025 not only celebrates technological advancement but also embodies MTN’s unwavering commitment to creating an inclusive digital society where opportunity is accessible to all.
