A coalition of former New Patriotic Party (NPP) constituency organizers and executives who served under the immediate past NPP administration has declared its support for Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as the party’s presidential candidate for the 2028 general elections.
The group, known as “Strikers for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia” (Strikers 4 DMB), made the announcement at a press conference in Accra, pledging to leverage their political experience and networks to drive Dr. Bawumia’s campaign agenda.
Chief Director of Operations for the group, Seth Kofi Osei Kissi, emphasized that the endorsement goes beyond symbolism and reflects a strategic commitment to securing victory for Dr. Bawumia. He explained that having served as constituency and regional executives, members of the coalition have a deep understanding of the NPP’s structures, dynamics, and electoral needs, and will work to ensure that the Vice President’s message resonates across the country.
Mr. Kissi described Dr. Bawumia as a unifier and grassroots mobilizer with the vision and leadership qualities necessary to rally the party and the nation toward success in 2028. The group reaffirmed its readiness to mobilize support nationwide and actively contribute to Dr. Bawumia’s flagbearership bid.
