Hon. Shirley Kyei Tiwaa Rallies NPP Delegates, Calls for Respect for Grassroots Decisions at National Conference

The Member of Parliament for Atwima Nwabiagya South, Hon. Shirley Kyei Tiwaa, has passionately appealed to delegates and party leaders at the ongoing New Patriotic Party (NPP) national conference to uphold and respect the decisions of the grassroots, describing them as the backbone of the party.
In a warm and welcoming address to delegates, Hon. Kyei Tiwaa reaffirmed her unwavering commitment to the growth and unity of the NPP, urging the rank-and-file of the party to engage in productive discussions and decision-making processes that will foster national development and consolidate the party’s democratic values.
“The strength of the NPP lies in its people, especially those at the grassroots level who tirelessly work to promote the party’s agenda across the country,” she emphasized. “This conference presents a golden opportunity for us to listen to their concerns, acknowledge their contributions, and factor their views into our strategic decisions going forward.”
The lawmaker further encouraged delegates to be bold and visionary in their deliberations, noting that decisions taken at the conference would shape the future of the party as it gears up for the 2028 general elections. She underscored the need for unity, discipline, and mutual respect among members at all levels of the party structure.
Hon. Kyei Tiwaa also called on the national executive of the party to deepen democratic inclusivity by embracing the outcomes and proposals from the grassroots. According to her, doing so would strengthen trust in the party’s leadership and renew the commitment of local party faithful to work harder for electoral victory in future contests.
“As leaders, our responsibility is not just to direct, but to listen—especially to those at the very base of our party structure. Their voice must not only be heard but reflected in the decisions we take at this level,” she added.
Her remarks were met with applause and endorsement from several delegates, many of whom commended her for her humility, approachability, and consistent advocacy for grassroots empowerment.
The ongoing NPP conference is a major event in the party’s calendar and brings together national, regional, and constituency executives, Members of Parliament, party elders, and grassroots members to deliberate on key policy issues, internal reforms, and strategies for strengthening the party machinery ahead of future elections.
Hon. Shirley Kyei Tiwaa’s message has been widely acknowledged as timely and necessary, with many describing it as a clarion call for deeper unity and inclusivity within the party.
