Juaben Rural Bank Unveils Ultramodern Training Centre to Boost Staff Capacity

In a significant step toward enhancing professional development and operational excellence, Juaben Rural Bank PLC has officially commissioned an ultramodern training centre at its headquarters in the Ashanti Region. The state-of-the-art facility is designed to serve as a hub for continuous staff training and youth empowerment within the Juaben traditional area and beyond.
The commissioning ceremony, held amidst a colourful gathering of dignitaries, stakeholders in the banking sector, and community leaders, was graced by the Managing Director of ARB Apex Bank PLC, Mr. Alex Kwasi Awuah. In his keynote address, Mr. Awuah praised the management and board of Juaben Rural Bank for their visionary investment in human capital development.
He emphasized that capacity building is a crucial pillar in the growth of rural banks, especially as they strive to deliver innovative and competitive banking services in today’s dynamic financial environment. “This training centre is not just a building—it is a commitment to staff excellence, improved service delivery, and community development,” Mr. Awuah noted.
Touching on broader national issues, Mr. Awuah also used the opportunity to draw attention to the environmental crisis confronting Ghana, citing illegal mining and indiscriminate tree cutting as major contributors to forest depletion. He urged all Ghanaians to take environmental preservation seriously, encouraging every citizen to plant at least one tree annually as part of their civic responsibility.
The Chief Executive Officer of Juaben Rural Bank PLC, Mr. Noble Augustine Awere Damoah, in his address, highlighted the purpose behind the construction of the facility. According to him, the training centre is a long-term investment aimed at improving the knowledge base, skills, and attitudes of the bank’s staff to ensure better service delivery and customer satisfaction.
He further indicated that beyond staff training, the facility will also be used to provide practical training for the youth in the Juaben area to help reduce unemployment and promote entrepreneurship. “As a rural bank committed to community development, we believe that equipping young people with the right skills is a key pathway to reducing poverty and improving livelihoods,” he said.
Mr. Damoah also advised members of the public to adopt a habit of banking their money rather than keeping large sums of cash at home, which he described as risky. He pointed out the growing cases of armed robbery and the financial insecurity associated with storing money outside the formal banking system.
Board Chairman of Juaben Rural Bank, Nana Dr. Appiagyei Dankawoso, who officially unveiled the centre, expressed gratitude to the Apex Bank Managing Director, the bank’s board, and management team for their dedication and foresight. He noted that the training facility would go a long way to strengthen internal operations and position the bank to meet the rising demands of modern banking.
“Staff refresher training is key to performance and customer satisfaction, and this facility will ensure we stay ahead of the curve,” Nana Dr. Dankawoso remarked.
The unveiling of the training centre marks another milestone in Juaben Rural Bank’s legacy of community-focused development and financial empowerment. It is expected that the facility will become a regional centre of excellence for rural banking staff development and a springboard for youth transformation through skill acquisition.
