Amansie South DCE Urges Youth to Embrace Government Flagship Programs for a Better Future

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Amansie South, Hon. Benjamin Marfo, has issued a passionate appeal to the youth of the district to actively participate in government’s flagship programs, including Feed Ghana, Nkɔkɔ Nketenkete, and Adwumawura, as part of efforts to reposition the nation’s economy and improve livelihoods.

Speaking at the First Ordinary Meeting of the Second Session of the Third Assembly held at Manso Adubia, Hon. Marfo emphasized that the youth play a pivotal role in the successful implementation of the government’s Reset Ghana Agenda. According to him, the flagship programs are not mere policies but practical interventions aimed at creating employment, enhancing food security, and promoting entrepreneurship among the youth.

“These are not just programs on paper,” the DCE stated. “They are real opportunities that can transform lives. Every young person in Amansie South must see these initiatives as their ticket to a brighter future. I urge all Assembly Members here to return to their communities and mobilize the youth to take advantage of these interventions.”

The Feed Ghana program, which focuses on improving agricultural productivity and food self-sufficiency, and the Nkɔkɔ Nketenkete initiative, which promotes poultry farming, are both designed to equip young people with skills and resources needed for economic independence. The Adwumawura initiative, on the other hand, seeks to match jobseekers with available employment opportunities, particularly within the private sector.

Hon. Marfo further reassured the Assembly of the government’s strong commitment to infrastructure development and social services across the district. He disclosed that efforts were underway to improve facilities at Manso Adubia Senior High School, with strategic investments planned to enhance both academic infrastructure and student welfare.

He also announced that the Assembly was collaborating with various agencies to address key challenges in the district, such as inadequate teaching and health personnel, lack of staff accommodation, and high youth unemployment. According to the DCE, discussions were ongoing with relevant authorities to fill personnel gaps in schools and health centers and provide housing for government staff, especially in rural communities.

Touching on security and emergency response, Hon. Marfo called on the Lands Commission to speed up the processes leading to the completion of a Fire Service Station for the district. He emphasized the importance of the facility in safeguarding lives and properties in the event of fire outbreaks and other emergencies.

In his closing remarks, the DCE urged Assembly Members to be proactive ambassadors of government policies and ensure that information about ongoing interventions reaches the grassroots. He stressed the importance of community engagement and transparency in governance.

“Let us not forget that the youth are our greatest asset. We owe it to them and future generations to make sure they benefit from every policy designed for their progress. Together, we can transform Amansie South into a model district for development and opportunity,” he concluded.

The meeting, which brought together Assembly Members, Heads of Departments, traditional leaders, and other key stakeholders, provided a platform to assess the district’s progress and strategize on the way forward. It also offered an opportunity for the Assembly to reaffirm its commitment to development, accountability, and inclusive governance
