Victory Congregation Marks 40th Anniversary with Thanksgiving and Honours Dr. Victor Gadri for Distinguished Service

The Victory Congregation of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, located at Compound in Dunkwa-On-Offin within the Upper Denkyira East District of the Central Region, has joyfully celebrated its 40th Anniversary with a powerful theme: “Celebrating Our Heritage: Persisting in Mission”, drawn from 1 Corinthians 15:58, and a sub-theme “A Tapestry of Praise: Weaving 40 Years Together.”

The four-day celebration, filled with praise, worship, spiritual reflection, and fellowship, was climaxed last Sunday with a grand Thanksgiving Service that brought together congregants, church leaders, political figures, and invited guests from far and near.

In a heartfelt gesture during the event, the church honoured Dr. Victor Gadri, a Senior Presbyterian, philanthropist, and longtime benefactor of the Victory Congregation. Dr. Gadri was recognized for his distinguished service, exemplary leadership, and invaluable contributions toward the growth and sustainability of the congregation over the years. His dedication to the mission of the church has made a lasting impact, both spiritually and materially.

Rev. Ernest Pipim, Minister-in-Charge of the Victory Congregation, expressed profound gratitude to the Almighty God for His unwavering faithfulness and guidance throughout the church’s four-decade journey. He described the anniversary as a moment of reflection, thanksgiving, and renewed commitment to the mission of Christ.

“We are here to thank God for how far He has brought us and to ask for more blessings in the years ahead. Our core mandate remains unchanged — to win souls for Jesus Christ and lead people to eternal life,” Rev. Pipim emphasized.

He also took the opportunity to advise the youth to stay away from social vices, especially substance abuse and the pursuit of “quick money,” which he described as a dangerous trend driven by impatience. “The youth today are often more interested in the product and not the process. This mindset can lead to ruin and even death,” he cautioned.

Hon. Emelia Ankomah, Esq., Member of Parliament for Upper Denkyira East, who graced the occasion, encouraged the congregation to continue praying for the nation and its leaders. She called on Christians to put aside political affiliations and unite in prayer for divine wisdom and direction for national leadership, emphasizing that this is key to the growth and prosperity of the country.

Dr. Victor Gadri, visibly moved by the honour bestowed on him, expressed appreciation to the Victory Congregation for the recognition. In his remarks, he urged the youth to be more active in church life and to devote themselves to the work of God. He also appealed to ministers of the gospel to intensify their evangelism efforts in reaching the lost.

He concluded by calling on regulatory bodies to take decisive action against self-styled pastors who spread false teachings and misinformation across the airwaves, thereby distorting the gospel message and misleading the public.

The 40th anniversary celebration of the Victory Congregation was not only a moment of joy and gratitude but also a reaffirmation of the church’s unwavering commitment to its spiritual mandate — to persist in mission and uphold the values of faith, service, and community.
